30th ANNUAL CALIFORNIA TRAILS & GREENWAYS CONFERENCE
April 22-24, 2015

The California Trails & Greenways Conference provides trail professionals, advocates, volunteers and users with a venue for sharing practical, up-to-date trail management and advocacy skills; as well as a forum for networking and building support for accessible, inter-connected, and sustainable non-motorized trail systems. Since 1985, this investment of knowledge by California State Parks and the California Trails Conference Foundation has helped ensure trail stewardship and leadership for generations to come.

Besides having an exhibit booth at the conference I will also be providing a Wilds of California/sponsor film that will be projected  on the large screen in the main hall during the entire conference.

FEBRUARY 2014 Fieldnotes - California Presentations
Filming the Wilds of California is a presentation about producing these natural history film projects throughout California and working with individuals who are passionate about protecting and preserving California’s native habitats & species.

Accompanied by sample clips from various film projects, Jim will cover both old and new projects as well as introduce The Wilds of California project, a multi-media photography and film project designed to help increase public awareness and appreciation for California’s incredible natural diversity. The ultimate goal of this project is to reach as large an audience as possible through traveling exhibits, on-line video and DVD distribution.

Nature is calling—powerful and positive!

Our society has developed such an outsized faith in technology that we have yet to fully understand how human capacities are enhanced through the power of nature.  This will be one of the powerful messages of author/naturalist Richard Louv on Friday evening, May 6 at Point Loma Nazarene University, when he talks from his new book, The Nature Principle: Human Restoration and the End of Nature-Deficit Disorder.  Exhibits on local nature education opportunities open at 6:30 and for Louv’s lecture begins at 7:30. Tickets are $5 in advance

May 15th - ART IN THE PINES
I'll have a booth at the Art in The Pines Spring Art Festival and Sale to benefit Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. It  will be taking place Sunday, May 15th, 2011, 10 AM - 5 PM at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve when the wild flowers are in full bloom. I hope to have some new images and a special sample DVD of Wilds of San Diego.
